Susy Elison
Ski Instructor
Growing up in Buffalo, NY taught me to embrace winter and all the wonders it brings. Spending a year in Finland during college solidified my love for winter, snowy environments, and Nordic skiing. After a 30 year career as a science teacher and environmental educator I am enjoying applying my teaching skills to helping new and experienced skiers find the joy that comes from gliding efficiently across snow while learning and applying knowledge of the science of snow physics. You, too, can become a chionophile (lover of winter!).
I have cross country skied on 3 continents–North America, Europe, and Antarctica (!)–and have skied Finlands’s Rajalta Rajalle (Border to Border) Tour twice. Since retiring from the classroom I have been enjoying all that our outdoor environment gives us, hiking, biking, backpacking, and–of course–skiing!
