Ferguson St. John and Bria Rickert celebrate with their prizes as winners of both the Classic and Skate segments of the Winterstart 5K Race. A great crowd showed up to compete on a warm and sunny day on Grand Mesa. The numbers were in part due to the fact that the GMNC trails are one of the few systems in the region with enough snow for skiing. Dave Smith and his grooming crew did a fabulous job transforming the meager snowpack into a superb racing trail. Our race series sponsor, Empowered Energy Systems, and a handful of dedicated volunteers enabled this fun event to happen.
