Another fine day of ski racing on Grand Mesa, overcast, cold and snowing lightly. The bad news is that we didn’t get the big dump that we were hoping for but the good news was that with the lighter accumulation the road stayed open and we were able to race! Keep doing your snow dances out there! Or maybe we just need to schedule another race soon since that seems to bring a snowstorm.

Despite drifting in tracks, Iver Skaarseth skied a blazing time of 37:05 for the win. Egor Gavrilov was not far behind. Anna Gavrilova put her excellent classic skills on display to win for the women and place 4th overall. Style points go to Jim Dresser who sported a beautiful sweater as part of his vintage ski attire. Condolences go to Marilyn Kastens who tumbled and broke one of her nice ski poles 15 yards from the finish line.
