Exploring Skills for Skate Skiing
Designed for a solid beginner (not first time) and intermediate skiers, the clinic's focus is on exploring skills for propulsion and glide in skate skiing. The clinic will be lead by Martin Wiesiolek, PSIA Level 3 Certified Cross Country Ski Instructor and PSIA-RM Trainer/Examiner. Space is limited to 7 participants to allow for personalized experience. Clinic will include video for movement analysis at lunch time.
Schedule:
9:40 am: meet by the warming hut at Skyway trailhead on Grand Mesa
10 am - 12 pm: start skiing, push off for propulsion, weight transfer for glide
12 pm - 1 pm: lunch (bring your own)
1 pm - 2:30 pm: balancing on one leg while gliding, extending the glide
Required gear:
- Skate skis
- Skate ski boots
- Cross country ski poles for skate skate skiing (length: 89% of skier's height)
