We had nice Christmas ski tour at lower Ward Trail today on about 3 to 5 inches of new snow. It’s very rocky in places – even beyond “rock ski grade.” Probably best to wait for significant new snow before skiing Ward. A pair of newly downed trees is blocking the southernmost part the “Lower Ward Loop”, and they are tricky to get around. Photo shows sunny conditions on Ward trail just south of Trail Junction No. 4 (Ward/Lower Skinned Horse) on the morning of December 25.
